Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]

Q. What is your turn-around time?

A. Same day if necessary depending on required work.

 Q. What is the most secure form of media to preserve my data?

A. M-DISC (etched/engraved disc vs. burned disc) is the most permanent form of preservation.

Q. What is the highest quality consumer format/medium to transfer to?

A. The quality has as much to do with the method of transfer as it does with the medium tranferred to.  For example a Blu-Ray is not better than a DVD if your transfer method degrades your image. An uncompressed .avi or .mov file on a hard drive is better than a compressed DVD or Blu Ray disc. We can help you decide what medium is best for your budget and purpose.

Q. How many videotapes can I put on a DVD?

A. One videotape (2 hours) for best quality* [4.7GB - Compressed]

Q. How many videotapes can I put on a Blu-Ray?

A. Four videotapes (2 hours each) for best quality* [25GB - Compressed]

Q. How many videotapes (2 hours each) can I transfer to a 1TB hard drive?

A. Approximately 33 tapes or 66 hrs on a 1TB Hard Drive*. [Uncompressed .avi or .mov file - 15GB per hr. 15X66=990GB - 1000GB = 1TB]

Q. Should I transfer to a Disc or a Hard Drive?

A. It depends on what you plan on doing with the footage. If you just want to archive and watch it then go with a disc. If you plan on editing your footage then go with a Hard Drive.
